William drowned in Tonique Narrows, having been thrown from a horse he was riding, towing a boat up the narrows.
All dates given here were submitted by carious descendants of George Craig. In some cases they are at variance with dates shown for William (1820-1878); for Margaret (1833-1912).
In a 1851 Census In the household of John and Nancy Larlee was a 7 year old Granddaughter, Agnes Larlee. This child must have been the daughter of one o the sons of John and Nancy. When checking the situation of these of the sons In 1851, It was found that the two youngest sons were not married and that John, Daniel, Amos and Elijah all had living wives In that year, so there would be no reason for a child of any of them t be livin with her grandparents. We also know that Williams' first wife died probably during the late 1840's; therefore, one might expect a 7 years old daughter of his to be with her grandparents In 1851, If she had recently lost her mother. It Is believed that Agnes Larlee was a child of William's first marriage.
